Before
AfterYou scraped a curb, and now one of your rims doesn't look the way it used to. The first instinct for a lot of drivers is "I'll need a new wheel." In most cases, you don't. Your factory rim is still the right wheel for your car; it just needs to be repaired.
What replacing a factory wheel really costs
A new OEM wheel from a dealer typically costs several hundred dollars, and wheels for luxury cars, performance models and EVs can cost a lot more. And the price of the wheel is only the start:
- Tire mounting and balancing to move your tire onto the new wheel.
- TPMS sensor transfer or replacement for your tire pressure monitoring system.
- Waiting time if the wheel has to be ordered in.
- A mismatch: a brand-new wheel can stand out next to the other three, which have years of normal wear on them.
What a repair costs
Rim repair starts at $85 per rim. Pricing can vary depending on the damage, so the easiest way to know is to text us a photo for a quote. Because we're mobile, there's no taking the wheel off, no shipping it away and no time without your car.
A single rim can take 45 minutes to an hour, and a full set can take an hour and a half to 2 hours, because we work on all the rims together, one step at a time.
You keep the wheel that was built for your car
Your factory wheels were engineered and tested for your specific vehicle: its weight, its suspension, its brakes. (We explain why that matters in OEM vs. aftermarket rims.) When you repair them, you keep all of that. The finish is colour-matched to the original, so the repaired rim matches the rest of the set.
It protects what your car is worth
Scuffed rims are one of the first things a buyer or appraiser notices, and they make a car look less cared for than it is. If you're selling, trading in or returning a lease, clean factory wheels help your car make the right first impression. It's also why dealerships repair rims on their used inventory before putting cars on the lot.
When replacing is the right call
Repair is the right choice for cosmetic damage: curb rash, scrapes, scratches and worn finishes. Some damage is different:
- Cracks anywhere in the wheel
- Bends, such as a wheel that wobbles or won't hold balance
- Damage that causes air loss or affects how the tire seals against the rim
Those are structural problems, not cosmetic ones, and the wheel should be inspected by a wheel or tire specialist. If you're not sure what kind of damage you have, send us a photo and we'll tell you honestly.
How we repair your rims
Every repair follows the same process: we clean the rims, tape off the affected area, sand, grind, clean again, paint to match your original finish, apply clear coat, and finish with a final clean. See real results in our work.
